The mitochondria is often known as 'The Powerhouse' in the cell. Mitochondria are one of the eukaryotic cells. Mitochondria's main function is to conduct cellular respiration. In part, this means the mitochondria takes nutrient from the cell and breaks it down to make energy! Once it it makes the energy, it gives it back to the cell to do other functions. The mitochondria in the cell works with all of the other organelles by powering them, or giving the the energy. Mitochondria are made of phospholipid in double layers and proteins
